(Reuters) – The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported 4,920,369 cases of the new coronavirus on Saturday, an increase of 62,042 cases from the previous count, and said the number of deaths was around 1,340 to 160,220.
The CDC reported on their cases of respiratory disease known as COVID-19 caused by a new coronavirus on Aug. 7, starting at 4 p.m. ET, versus their previous report the day before.
The CDC numbers do not necessarily reflect cases reported by individual states.
