Hunslet Nelson’s homecoming postponed after positive coronavirus test

Hunslet Nelson's first home game of the season was canceled late after an East Ardsley player tested positive for coronavirus.

Hunslet Nelson announced the news last night (Friday, July 31) on the club's Facebook page just a few hours before they were scheduled to play their last competitive game at Arthur Thornton Ground since last September.

Gipsy Lane Club started its season in Division 2 east of the League Cup with a heavy loss at Sandal last week.

Although they earned three bowling bonus points after taking six gates in the first innings when Sandal scored 247-6, they did not earn anything in the second innings after playing for 124 bowling.

It looks like Hunslet Nelson will have another chance to start their season if they host Hopton Mills on Saturday August 8th.

The Bradford Cricket League announced that the games scheduled for Saturday August 1st will take place in parts of West Yorkshire despite tightening of restrictions.
