Honor introduces its first gaming laptop, the Hunter V700

Earlier this month, Honor introduced some notebooks for international markets, the MagicBook Pro and the regular MagicBook 14 and 15. These are more work-oriented laptops. Today the company introduced its first gaming laptop, the Hunter V700, but only for the Chinese market.

The Hunter V700 has the specs you'd expect from a gaming laptop, with up to an Intel Core i7-10750H CPU to power the device. However, there is an option for a Core i5-10300H. For graphics, you get an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 alongside the Core i7 CPU or a GTX 1660 Ti if you go for the Core i5 model.

Regardless of the model, the laptop has 16 GB of RAM that can be upgraded to 32 GB by the user. Storage options include either 512GB or 1TB SSD capacity, with the latter split into two SSDs. The display has a diagonal of 16.1 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080, but a refresh rate of 144 Hz.

Honor has a "Wind Valley" thermal design for the laptop that allows the vents to close when the laptop lid closes, so the laptop maintains a slimmer profile. The heat sink is designed to use surrounding surfaces for heat dissipation. Honor also built two 12V fans into the machine to keep it cool. The company ran stress tests like AIDA64 and FurMark for 72 minutes. The power consumption was 44.9 W for the CPU and 101.1 W for the GPU, and the machine temperature stayed at 77 ° C.

The company is also building on the connectivity between Honor smartphones and laptops. With the Hunter V700, this connectivity allows users to tap an Honor phone on the laptop to record the last 30 seconds of the game as well as the 30 seconds thereafter. The video is automatically synced to the phone for easy editing and sharing.

The honor hunter V700 can be pre-ordered Shipping begins today September 26th in China. The laptop costs 7,499 yen (approx. 1,109.85 US dollars) for the Core i5 model with 512 GB of storage space. The Core i7 model with a 512 GB SSD costs 8,499 yen ($ 1,257.85) and the 1 TB variant costs 9,999 yen ($ 1,479.85). There is no indication that the laptop will be released internationally.
