Michael Gove told Andrew Marr this morning that the EU had resigned from its Brexit demands in the past few weeks. Speaking to the BBC, high-ranking cabinet minister Michel Breier, chief EU negotiator for Brexit, said he had even "withdrawn" from previous red lines. Mr. Gove was "optimistic" that an agreement could be reached between the two sides before the end of the year.
Andrew Marr said: “We have heard from people around Michel Barnier that there are steps in the negotiations on the EU side.
"Are you confident, as the Prime Minister said, that we'll get a trade deal this month?"
Mr. Gove replied: "I don't know anything about this month, but progress has been made.
"There are still divisions between us and the EU."
