According to a Brexiteer cabinet minister, Brussels will give in to Britain's demands despite ongoing Brexit talks. International Trade Minister Liz Truss said the EU will collapse under "time pressure" as Britain negotiates separate trade agreements with both the EU and the US. The potential for a comprehensive UK deal with the US has put enormous pressure on the EU to withdraw from its defiant Brexit stance.

Speaking to talkRADIO's Dan Wootton, Ms. Truss made it clear that the UK government "absolutely does not" extend trade talks with the European Union when it comes to the Brexit deadline.
Dan Wootton said: "Gove told MEPs this week that EU negotiators are not treating the UK as they would treat other independent countries.
"He said the pandemic should concentrate the mind. Why don't we just say, let's just do the no-deal Brexit.
"If they don't treat us fairly, why are we continuing these conversations at all?"

Regarding the trade talks with the United States, Ms. Truss said: “The US President and our prime minister are extremely committed to a free trade agreement.
“We are currently discussing virtually – similar to the EU discussions.
“The talks had to be interrupted, babies of the serious situation we were all facing, but we are looking at how we can virtually restart these talks
“We are committed to these talks, which take place in parallel with the talks with the EU.
Ms. Truss tweeted today that trade agreements with the United States are required to help Britain recover economically from the effects of the corona virus blockade.
